Well, I was recently yelled at by a dear friend of mine, PencilOfSketching, who I met in a drawing class and with whom I've retained correspondence ever since, to start drawing every single day. I was reluctant at first, because I've hated everything I have ever done, and when I draw I always get frustrated and discouraged to ever draw again. She sent me a picture of a fox one day when I was sick and bedridden and loving told me to, "DRAW IT, (creative word used here)" so I picked up a pen and did just that. I did a quick drawing at first, trying to use multiple different-colored pens to hopefully achieve a neat look, which failed as miserably as I could have ever hoped it to. I pressed on, and this time did a closeup of the face in black pen, spent about 10 minutes on it, and was very pleased with the result. Some time after I asked her for another picture to draw and she sent me one of a fat little Sharpei puppy. We all know how that one turned out
I still have that cold from then, but now its going away, and good things are coming with it! Here's to a healthy, productive 2010. And thanks Anne for being an influence and forcing me to get stuff done!
